■中学生が呉羽梨摘果体験


Some students in Toyama City had an experience of picking the unneeded fruit on Kureha pear trees.
富山市の学生が呉羽梨の摘果を体験しました。


The picking is done to make the remaining pears bigger and sweeter.
「摘果」は、大きくて甘い梨を収穫するために行われます。


They take away pears which haven’t grown large enough and leave only big and well-shaped ones.
生育のよくない実を取り除き、大きくて形の良いのだけを残します。


Although it wasn’t easy work, the students worked hard.
大変な作業でしたが、生徒たちは作業を頑張っていました。
