■七五三の準備始まる

Shichigosan, the gala days for boys 3 and 5 years old, and girls 3 and 7 years old start in late October.
10月下旬から七五三が始まります。

In this shrine, priests and maidens serving the shrine have begun packing chitose-ame, a kind of candy stick.
この神社では、巫女や神職が千歳飴の袋詰め作業を始めていました。

They were carefully putting the candy sticks into paper bags on which cranes and turtles, the symbol of longevity, are painted .
千歳飴は、長寿を象徴する鶴と亀が描かれた袋に丁寧に詰め込まれていきました。

They are going to prepare 2,500 bags for Shichigosan until November 30.
飴は11月30日までの期間中に約2500袋が準備されます。

They are expecting the largest turnout on a weekend in the middle of November.
七五三のピークは１１月中旬の週末を見込んでいます。

■北陸新幹線カウントボード設置

It will be less than one year and a half before Hokuriku Shinkansen that connects Tokyo and Toyama begins operations.
富山と東京を結ぶ北陸新幹線の開業まで１年半を切りました。　

A board for countdown was installed in Toyama Station to show the number of days left before the very day.
今回、JR富山駅には開業までの日数を示したカウントダウンボードが設置されました。

Toyama Prefecture’s mascot characters, such as “Kitokito-kun” and so on were engaged in public relations handing out their business cards and pocket tissues　to passers-by.
また県のマスコットキャラクタ―「きときと君」らがポケットティッシュと名刺を駅の利用客に配って北陸新幹線開業をPRしていました。
