■成人式

A coming-of-age celebration took place in Toyama City the other day.
富山市で先日成人式が行われました。

New adults in long-sleeved kimono or suits reinforced their determination at the threshold of their lives.
振袖やスーツ姿の新成人が人生の門出に決意を新たにしました。

The parents were seen taking commemorative pictures eagerly.
記念撮影では保護者らも盛んにカメラを向けていました。

The new adults spent some time talking pleasantly about their elementary school days with their homeroom teachers from back then.
また、小学校当時の担任と和やかに思い出話を語り合いひと時を過ごしました。

■気嵐


Today we had the coldest morning this season at various spots in Toyama.
今朝、県内各地でこの冬一番の寒さとなりました。

Early in the morning “Kearashi” was seen over the sea near Amaharashi Beach.
雨晴海岸では早朝の海面に「気嵐」が見られました。

“Kearashi” is steam mist over Toyama bay and it brings us the real feeling of winter.
気嵐は水蒸気が煙のように見える富山湾の冬の風物詩です。

When the sun rose, the air was filled with illusory light.
朝日が昇ると，辺りは幻想的な光に包まれました。
